• Introduced Alan Knight as the director to the Waiheke Choral Society’s performance of the Mikado.

• Updated us on status of show – not all characters have been cast as yet, we still need a Nanki-poo and leading Maids

• There was a small turn out to the original auditions leaving little room for manoeuvrability in the casting.

• Agreed and also acknowledged that we should have appointed the director before confirming the cast.

• Would like to revisit the casting of the main characters as he has concerns that the casting of the principals that have been made so far may not complement each other well.

• Richard suggested that the fairest way to do this would be for everyone to re-audition.

• Will open casting back up and welcome new applicants.

Auditions

• Alan will write to the principals and let them know we will be holding new auditions.

• Dee to put an advertisement in Gulf News advising of new audition date of Thursday 15^th at Whittaker’s at 7:00pm.

• Notify as many people as possible by Facebook.

Costumes

• Maya had pictures of lovely costumes from Auckland Theatre Company. The cost of the costumes is $1000 + GST

• Maya to go ahead and order the costumes

• Nora has spoken with Warwick about the set and they are suggesting a white screen with a huge red circle (the Mikado’s symbol), with back-lit projection showing various scenes, large origami fans etc

Show Dates

• Last week in May and the first 3 weekends of June

• Philip is not available on June 2 and either Alan or Mark will be asked to understudy and cover his part for this performance
