MINUTES OF AGM - 7pm, March 10, 2026 at Waiheke Musical Museum
APOLOGIES (3)
Jane Scarles (S), Sue Allen (S), John Allen (B)
PRESENT (25)
Anne Willmann (C), Willi Willmann (B), Sandra Alley (S), Dee Austring (A), Mary Batten (S), Mark Yandall (B), Hiromi Stewart (A), Carolyn Smart (P), Gavin Smart (T), Joan Kirk (T), Gerda Gorgner (A), Frances Salt (S), Adrienne Wigmore (A), Mary Elsmore (S), Norma Cross (S), Nicolas Herren (B), Maya Spence (S), Andy Spence (T), Ann Jocelyn (A), Fetuu Taliai (T), Terry McMahon (B), Soona Brown (A), Gael Gartrell (A), Jude Pemberton (A), and Mark James (T).
Minutes of Last AGM 2025 had been circulated by email (and is now on the website, see link). Taken as read, moved by Gavin, seconded by Andy that 2025 minutes be accepted, carried.
President s Report 2026 by Adrienne had been circulated by email (and is now on the website, see link). Taken as read, moved by Mark J, seconded by Joan that it be accepted, carried. Noted that her suggestion of sing-a-long Tuesdays to give Anne a break would not be possible until after our mid-year concert due to the tight timeframe to prepare for the concert.
Musical Director s Report 2026 by Anne had been circulated by email (and is now on the website, see link). Taken as read, moved by Maya, seconded by Mark J that it be accepted, carried.
Treasurer s Report 2026 by Mark including the Reviewers Report had been circulated by email (and are now on the website, see links). Taken as read, moved by Andy, seconded by Mary, that they be accepted, carried. Noted that apparent loss in CY25 was due to some CY24 payments not occurring until Jan 25 (otherwise CY25 would ve ended up in the black), as WCS uses cash-based accounting (simpler, less risk), not accrual-based accounting.
Choir membership fees recommended and agreed to stay at $30/person or $50/family (moved Gerda, seconded Andy), and that MyGreenBookkeeper be retained as our independent financial reviewer. Nicolas noted fees are relatively cheap and nothing stopping members paying (donating) more if they wish, but also noted that the WSC is not short of funds given we are no longer doing plays as in years gone by.
Election of Officers:
Music Director: Anne Willmann agreed to continue,
President: Adrienne agreed to continue,

General Business:
Although we have some new members, Nic says we need to get fresh blood, particularly young people please pass on any ideas to the committee. Frances could act as contact to the High School.
Reminder to those who have tea/coffee/biscuits to put gold coin in donation tin.
Fetu raised suggestion to sing in the meeting room lounge at the retirement village, committee to discuss.
Mark Y suggested free concert at school/park/retirement centre to advertise who we are, for committee to discuss.
Anna van Riel workshop, mentioned in Adrienne s president report, was highlighted.
Fetu mentioned about a woman who attended last years end-of-year concert after recently losing her brother and was touched by the Hallelujah Chorus.
It was asked if members need to advise anyone if they are unable to attend a practice nice to let Anne know but not strictly required. If unable to participate in a concert definitely let Anne know.
Meeting closed 7.25pm and the choir got on with rehearsing for our next concert.
