Minutes of Waiheke Choral Society Committee meeting 17^th May 2022, held at Anne Willmann’s home.

Meeting started 7:10

Present: Saskia, Nic, Mark, Maya, Anne, Gavin

Apologies: Susan

Purpose of meeting: To discuss re-commencing weekly choir practices (was agreed at last AGM to wait few weeks after change to Orange to see if covid cases re-spike up).

• Thanks to Mark for sending out email prior to this meeting showing trend in covid cases since change to Orange (recent slight rise again).

• Discussed feelings re re-starting practices, everyone seemed happy to.

• Carolyn not available as pianist till 31^st May.

• Masks would be required – must cover mouth and nose when mouth wide open.

• Anne happy to conduct if committee decide to re-start practices.

• Anne got a few responses to her email to members asking for song suggestions.

• Agreed to re-start on trial basis, 1^st practice 31^st May, 7pm-8:30, including 5-10min break but without tea/coffee/biscuits (ie, just a ‘stretch your legs’ break), spaced seating, masks on at all times.

• Saskia to put out email to members to advise start date and conditions.

• Anne will follow with her own email to members asking them to look for their previous copies of music to various songs that she will list.

• Not planning for a concert just yet, but would aim for one eventually.

• Discussed possibility of some other members joining the committee.

• Maya indicated Andy would be prepared to direct a show (depending on what it is) if we ever looked at doing another show.
