Welcome

Andy – welcome to 2013, what is the plan for the year?

Action

Mozart

  • This concert was to be held before Christmas but events conspired against us and the concert was postponed.

  • We are still planning to do the Mozart concert with 2 masses the Mass in C Minor and the Credo Mass.

Richard

  • Suggests we find the soloists and work around them.

  • Suggests we need a sub-committee to run this concert and any other concert.

  • The committee agrees with these suggestions.

Dee

  • Will contact the soloists and orchestra to try and coordinate a date that will suit everyone for the concert. Richard to contact Dee to discuss and provide names and phone numbers.

Music

  • Christchurch City Choir has said we can keep the music for the Great Mass until Easter.

  • Christchurch City Choir does not have the orchestral music for the Credo mass but the do have the music for the Coronation mass if we need that one.

  • Richard to get copies of Credo Mass for choir

  • Orchestra, there was discussion about considering having piano accompaniment only but the general feeling was that if we can raise an orchestra from Waiheke people and St Mathews orchestra it would be nicer.

Carmina Burana

  • Philip has contacted Kathy and Colin

  • Kathy is still keen to help with this performance but it will need to be in November.

  • Colin is still interested in making the set.

  • Dee to organise a meeting between Kathy, Colin, Philip and Richard to get the ball rolling.

  • (Colin is away from 7th – 27th of February so it is recommended that the meeting be arranged in the next week)

General

Richard feels we need to try and establish more contact with the community and raise awareness and involvement.

Perhaps try and encourage some younger members.

5

Rehearsals

  • Rehearsal time was discussed and decided that 7:00pm still a good time for rehearsals.

  • Tuesday rehearsals only for now.

7

Finances

  • Mark has completed accounts and provided to the auditor.

  • In very brief: We made $2500 on the Mikado and lost $700 on the rest of the year. Audited accounts will be tabled at the AGM.

  • Philip brought flowers for Rosemary on the death of her mother - Doreen Burns and the choir signed and gave Rosemary a condolence card.
