WAIHEKE CHORAL SOCIETY COMMITTEE MEETING JULY 9TH 2007


PRESENT .Jack Watson (Chair) Marie Watson, Barbara Cuff, Richard Melville, Andy and Meya Spence Colin Bearsley, Mark James, Jeanne Mellamphy, Ann Sutton, Christine Hoffman, Philip Symonds, and Dee Austring.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING were taken as read and passed unanimously.

MATTERS ARISING deferred to production matters.

CORRESPONDENCE INWARD, NIL OUTWARD Card to D and J Mellamphy for 50th wedding anniversary.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT. As attached. Royalties have been paid by Mark on his credit card but the bill has not been presented yet. M by Andy , S Barbara that Mark be paid for the royalties as soon as the bill is presented P U. The Building Fund has not been transferred yet in order to gain Maximum interest. M Andy S Christine that F.S. be accepted P.U

KING AND I

Budget. Set construction and Costumes. Ann to keep ownership of costumes instead of charging. The Choral Society only pay for the ballet costumes and hireage.Andy responsible to tell cast to return their costumes.

Set and props should stay within$1500,

There has been a good response to Sponsorship, Dee and Ann to phone other companies

Other Production matters,

The use of Palm Beach Hall has been cancelled for the duration of the show and at the moment we have not been asked for any payment.

There was a suggestion that we have a cast meeting to discuss any problems, probably a social night Richard to E.mail if necessary.

Props Christine to liase with Steve Tysoe, Visit to the Thai shop at Botany courtesy of Waiheke Shipping Friday 13th July.

Ballet props. The helmets and masks look fabulous especially the dog masks, all made of papier mache. Help will be needed for the rest the Sun and Clouds have been made and many thanks to Meya for the tremendous effort she has put in to making them

Stage Manager . This job has not been fill as yet.

Andy will clear out the rubbish from Artworks and take it to the tip.

It was agreed that the space underneath the stairs be used by Marion and her very bulky costumes .

Tickets to be sold by cast members .and Artworks, Christine will ask Elizabeth of Cut and Curl if she will sell tickets in exchange for an ad space in the programme. Jack to be the contact number.

Rod Glendenning to be asked to do the lighting and Philip to do the rigging. Stan to be the supervisor as a qualified engineer, OSH requirements.Philip to phone Rod.

Prompt will be Alison Edwards and Jack .

Marion will keep an attendance roll.

The final draft for the programme to be in by July 23rd.Andy will be talking to Eileen Evans on her radio programme Meya needs taffeta for the river, and figures dressed in black

Tuesday 17th at 7pm for the chorus work re the ballet scene.

There will be a preview night for invited guests

We are waiting for permission to hang a banner across the main street in Oneroa.

The passage of time to be denoted in the programme.

It was decided to have a third weekend show on Sept 7th t depending on the availability of the theatre, the commitments of The Festival Players and cast commitments. Friday Sat and Sat. M. Andy. S Mark PU. It was also M.Philip ,S Mark that the show times be changed to 7pm and 2pm PU.

There being no more business to discuss the meeting closed at 7.30pm

Next meeting to be held at the Artworks foyer 6pm 23rd July.
