WAIHEKE CHORAL SOCIETY MEETING FEB.27^TH 2007

Present Colin Bearden, Ann Sutton, Maya Spence, Richard Melville, Jan McCartain, Philip Symonds, Andy Spence, Mark James, Jeanne Mellamphy.

Apologies. Jack and Marie Watson and Pat Atkin.

The meeting opened at 6.20pm. at Palm Beach HALL.

This meeting was held to discuss and lay out the procedures for ‘The King and I’.

What follows is the discussion points, and it must be pointed out that it was a general discussion and some points could be changed at a formal Production meeting, The Code of Practice was followed .The points are not in any particular order.

• Apply for the rights to the show. Mark to see to it.

• Andy and Philip to co- direct.

• Margaret Karetai to be the Production Manager.

• Casting.Mike Karetai for the King,Chugalong and Louis and children Open for auditions.Ann Jocylyn for Lady Chiang.?

• Michael Evans and Colin Bearden, set design.

• Maya for choreography with extra help (Barbara Cuff)

• Rehearsal pianist Andy to contact Ann Willerman and Kit.

• Rights will probably be around 6-to -800 dollars.

• Advertising Andy and Colin.

• Dates and performance date (Thursday Friday, Saturday Saturday)Philip to enquire.

• Gala Night, Thursday night and make it a fundraiser.

• Costume hire ? Ann is already making some.

• Props, Stan Edwards.

• Make-up Jane Rushton.

• Lights, Sheryl Lyall

• Budget to be worked out at a later meeting.

• Auditions for the children, Tues. March 20^th at 6.15pm and hopefully it will be advertised in the school newsletter

• A rehearsal schedule to be put in place as soon as possible.

Next production meeting will be Tues. March 6^th. 6.15pm. at Palm Beach Hall. Before normal rehearsal time.
